Virginia Gregg was a favorite of Jack Webb favorite, playing roles in the original Dragnet in the fifties, Emergency and Adam-12. She had a long career in radio and guest roles in lots of television series. If her voice seems to have a creepy edge to it, she was the voice of Norman Bates “mother” in Psycho.

A frog turned into a man wants Samantha to change him back.
John Fiedler plays Fergus, who wants to be changed back into a frog. If you needed a high-pitched, squeeky voiced, pipsqueek of a character, then John Fiedler was your man. His long career included roles as the nervous Juror #2 in “12 Angry Men,” in Star Trek’s “Wolf in the Fold” and in the role of Mr. Peterson on one of my favorite shows, The Bob Newhart Show. He was also the voice on numerous Walt Disney animated films including the “Winnie the Pooh” films as the voice of Piglet.

After 17 years as a solid citizen, a man is recognized as an escaped convict.
This is one of those, “Before They Were Stars” episodes. Harrison Ford plays the son of a carpenter who is recognized as an escaped murderer. This was one of Ford’s earliest roles. He had a lot of small roles back then, but not enough to pay the bills, so, ironically, he learned carpentry to earn extra money. He did work carpentry work for George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola, which helped lead to roles in “American Graffiti,” “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Last Ark.”

Charlie Weaver, whose real name is Cliff Arquette, had a long career in radio, theater and the movies, then had a second career making appearances as the character, Charlie Weaver, on Jack Paar, Hollywood Squares and The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. He was also the grandfather of actors Patricia, Rosanna and David Arquette.
Primetime Saturday 1961
1961 was an up and down year. Kennedy was inaugurated as President and then saw his popularity drop with the unsuccessful Bay of Pigs invasion. Alan Shepard was the first American into space, but he was beaten there by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Jeff let’s us know that ABC had a news team too, but did anyone ever watch them? Then there was that quintessential TV series about the all American family living in that new phenomenon, the suburbs. Diver Dan

Diver Dan was a syndicated television series produced around 1960, 61 in Philadelphia. The cast consisted of Diver Dan and Miss Minerva, the Mermaid, who were real people, along with a number of fish and sea creatures, who were all string puppets. To give the illusion that they were all underwater, the series was filmed through an aquarium. Do you remember Barron Barracuda, Trigger Fish, Finley Haddock, Gabby the Clam, Glow Fish, Goldie the Goldfish, Hammer-head Shark, Hermit Crab, Doc Sturgeon, Sea Biscuit the Seahorse and Skipper Kipper?
